It's been floating around for awhile that a new Tomb Raider reboot might begin following the success of the gritty game reboot and in that discussion some actress names have been floating around including Daisy Ridley. She's relatively new to the whole motion picture scene and quite well known after Star Wars: The Force Awakens which needs no introductions about it. Daisy has also recently confirmed that she's in talks about the starring role, but the movie itself is in very early production. The only details really known at this point is that it would follow the design of the game being gritty and more centered on a regular character compared to the outlandish first attempt. I feel that Daisy could do the character justice as Lara is an essential part of gaming, especially with how amazing the recent games have been.
Looking at casting with Daisy she looks about how I would imagine Lara Croft would in the real world and she also carries the same British background which is important to the character. I also could picture her as having that high class look when needed and still be able to get gritty for when the film calls for it. Being newer she may also be more willing to get into the role as the first game for the reboot was much darker than what was in the films. The original Tomb Raider also featured a much bustier Lara Croft if that's good to say whereas the new series has a more realistic natural look. This where some might have problems as Daisy looks fine and nothing personal though she's not quite a curvy as the new character though I suppose that really doesn't matter too much. We are of course just leaving an opinion on whether Daisy Ridley would work as a good Lara Croft though in all fairness the current actress for the game Camilla Luddington should have first dibs as they scan her for the titles and she brings a stunning performance to the role. Anyways, you can debate the two as I've included an image of Daisy from Star Wars and an image from the first game from which this new movie would be based from.
