Star Wars: The Force Awakens Captain Phasma was a Wasted Character

As stated with the title I felt that Captain Phasma was a wasted character within The Force Awakens. Despite being pushed as the first female villain in the Star Wars universe the character was never really a big part of the film. Spoilers to follow, at the start Captain Phasma is front and center within the story. She talks to high ranking officials and is a stormtrooper captain which makes her seem like a big deal. Such as having a more intimate moment with Finn when he was a stormtrooper telling him to put his helmet on since it's against protocol. This makes her come across as a strong and terrifying character, yet that's really where her journey ends. Phasma is almost entirely forgotten aside from brief moments whenever she gets complained too about Finn being a traitor. She does appear far later on in the movie only to be used as a quick joke character easily captured and controlled by the heroes. Her ending is also quite vague as she's just sort of cut out from the progression though she's signed on for the next episode so I imagine they'll just brush over what happened. I'm quite puzzled to see if they did throw her down the trash compacter like discussed or just left her in the room. I suppose it could also be used as a bit of a running joke in later episodes if quoted again or mentioned in retaliation. The character was well done with a chilling voice, but considering the actress "Gwendoline Christie" it was a waste of talent. It was just so odd to have this character being displayed prominently in advertising and discussion for her really just to be part of a small bit within the film. Still, Captain Phasma was intimidating and hopefully the character gets better representation in the next one.
